Once again I would like to say thank you
for all of the work you guys have been
doing on our reunion. I am still unsure
if my wife and I will be able to attend
but I thought I would give you an update
on what I have been doing over the last 20
Summers of 1988,89,90,91 and maybe 92
spent primarily in Huntington at Robby's
with Teddy Hall and Scott Osborne trying
to convince Bobby Pullem that 1:30 am was
plenty of time to "hook up"
After graduation I enrolled at EKU and
transferred to Campbellsville College
where I played baseball and met my wife.
I graduated in 1993 with a degree in
Secondary Education/Social Sciences.
I started dating my Dawn during the
fall of 1991 and we have been married
since November of 1995. She also
graduated from Campbellsville
with a degree in Communicatons/Theater.
After 1 year as an assistant coach at
Campbellsville I started teaching and
coaching at Spencer County High School
right outside of Louisville. After a
year of bus duty, cafeteria duty, hall
monitoring, and not nearly enough
baseball I decided to go back to the
college ranks. I was then hired by
Morehead State University as the
pitching coach. While we were in
Morehead we decided to start our
family with a dog named Slider who
turned 12 this year. My wife was
communiting to Lexington every day
going to school and working at
the Lexington Childrens Theatre.
She received her Masters in Theater
from UK. Also while I was at
Morehead State I got my Masters
Degree in Secondary Education/
Guidance and Counseling.
After five years at MSU I was hired
to be the head baseball coach at Viterbo
University in Wisconsin. While coaching
at Viterbo I also worked with the Texas
Rangers and Arizona Diamond Backs as
an Associate Scout. My wife continued
to teach Theater in the local community
theater and as an adjunct professor at
Viterbo where she also worked in the
admissions office. I coached at Viterbo
for 4 years and then accepted the King
College head coaching position to get
closer to home. While I was coaching at
King College Dawn also worked at the
school as the Director of Transfer
Recruitment in the Admissions Office.
After my 1 and only season at King a new
athletic director was hired and I was
bought out of my coaching contract so
he could bring in his own people.
So then we sold our house and packed
up for Indianapolis, Indiana where
I accepted an assistant coaching
position at Butler University. I was
only there for about 4 months and my
wife was offered a job at Georgia Southern
University in Statesboro, Georgia
as the Director of Graduate School
Recruitment. She had followed me around
for so long it was my turn to follow
her so I resigned from Butler
University and began working as the
Baseball Facilities Manager at
Georgia Southern University.
I recently accepted a new position
with the Georgia Southern Athletic
Department to become the Director
of Baseball Operations.
Dawn and I really love Statesboro,
we live an hour away from the beach
and plan on sticking around here a while.
After reading all of the blogs
I really realized how far behind I am
with children. Dawn and I do not having
kids but are thinking about
starting a family in the near future.
I would like to say hello and best
wishes to all of our classmates and
I hope that I have an opportunity
to be a part of this reunion.
